Margo Jones is a theatre legend. She co-directed the Broadway debut of Tennessee Williams' play The Glass Menagerie. She also started the first non-profit, repertory theatre in America right here in Dallas, and those are just a couple of her accomplishments! And now, Margo Jones is back (in away) putting those dreams into action at the theatre where it all started. Let Me Talk My Dreams, a world premiere written by AnaHagedorn, introduces audiences to Margo, the real life Dallas-based theatre legend and innovator. This one-woman show weaves together Margo’s own words and those of her loved to illuminate her passion, humor, and tornado-like energy. This engaging and interactive experience will give audiences a dynamic account of how Jones shaped Dallas theatrical history, as well as the history of theatre in America, all while witnessing the private struggles she hid behind her invincible smile. In addition to writing Let Me Talk My Dreams, Hagedorn, a recent of Southern Methodist University Meadows School of the Arts Masters in Acting program, will also be playing the role of Margo. Filling out the creative team is Amelia Bransky (DTC: Frankenstein; STT: Empathitrax) designing sets and costumes, and Jocelyn Girigorie (WaterTower: Hit the Wall; Stage West: A Funny Thing...New York City; SMU: Alcina)designing lights. Josh Kumler, of the inspired local politics show Bar Politics, will direct. Kendra Emmett, fresh off stage managing Empathitrax at Second Thought Theatre, will stage mange.
Let Me Talk My Dreams opens on Thursday, May 24 and runs through Monday, May 28, 2018. All performances will take place at The Margo Jones Theatre (located in the Magnolia Lounge) at Fair Park, 1121 First Avenue, Dallas TX, 75210. If you were one of the ticket holders for Cry Havoc's latest show, you know it was amazing! Congratulations to Cry Havoc for doing yet another world-changing show at the Margo Jones.

Here's a description of the show, which ran Jan. 6-13, 2018:

"If you were to write your own history of everything, what would you include? The election of Barack Obama or the 2016 rise of the alt-right? The discovery of penicillin or the detonation of the first atomic bomb? Would you favor the invention of the printing press over the creation of the first contraceptive pill?

In A HISTORY OF EVERYTHING, the teens of Cry Havoc tell the story of humanity as they see it, highlighting the cyclical nature of the world and the ongoing human struggle to find meaning in life. Based on the 2012 production by Ontroerend Goed and Sydney Theatre Company."

Circus Freaks! Come see This Show... in our space!

A well-known clown once said that first you book a theater, and then you write a show. Come see the writing process come to life on stage as the Circus Freaks and friends wrestle with creativity in a sometimes literal way in *This Show* at Fair Park's Margo Jones Theater on July 7-9th.

Combining acrobatic skills, gravity-defying juggling, ridiculous clown theater, puppetry, live music, three pairs of green socks, and other acts of industrial-grade whimsy, *This Show* blends together the things we all love about theater, circus, and classic fourth-wall-demolishing variety cabaret.
