This local theatre group called for new scripts that were “new, fresh, and a little off-beat… perspectives that are different from the usual mainstream holiday shows.” The show, titled A Very Nouveau Holiday 2015, is made up of ten 10-minute plays about the holidays. Just like previous years, the focus is on plays from local DFW area playwrights and every one is a premiere of a new work. The plays range from comedic and delightful holiday fare to a bit on the raw, edgy side and touching upon some more heart-rending topics.
In order to continue to make great, new theatre accessible, N47 will also be providing numerous pay-what-you-can performances! It will be performing in rep with the Margo Jones Partnership’s newest member, Camp Death and their production of “A Trailer Trash Christmas Carol.”
Contributing playwright Ben Schroth says “Nouveau 47 has always been a great company that gives artists the opportunity to see their own work performed. The Margo Jones Theatre has a history of providing Dallas with new, high quality plays that stretches back to Tennessee Williams and William Inge. What better holiday gift is there than to see local playwrights getting a chance to be a part of that history?”
Directed by Alex Bigus, Becki McDonald, Jim Kuenzer, Erin Singleton and Nic McMinn
