ABOUT THE SELECTIONS:
A FATE WORSE THAN FRENCH by Maggie Gallant
What kind of parent KNITS their daughter a swimsuit? With itchy, water-absorbing red wool? Maybe the same ones that would buy her a leather briefcase for her 11th birthday. If you ever felt like you didn’t belong with your family then share the embarrassment as British comedian Maggie Gallant discovers where she really came from and then wishes she hadn’t.
GARGANTUA by Kris Notebook
Gargantua is a giant that just wants to fit in, and he sees the celebration of Carnival as his opportunity. Unfortunately, his hard drinking ways, penchant for flatulence, and odiously abrasive opinions on society make this goal difficult. With the added commentary of Erasmus, the moral man who lives in his teeth, and the aid of some carnival masks, Gargantua goes on a satirically grotesque rampage through culture trying to sort it all out and find where, if anywhere, he fits.
SELF LOADING by Dani Martin
Self Loading uses monologues, poetry, and feeble attempts at humor to explore the concept of personal identity and how it is created, lost, and found.
